James and the Giant Peach
Roald Dahl
I can't believe that I haven't posted this book, as I read it to my youngest months ago, and together we enjoyed it very much, yes, very much - this one is the best of Dahl - you might consider it second only to Willie Wonka in the Dahl canon.
Nice characterization, nice plot (a little slow at one point with all the pigeons and stuff, but still . . .)
and great fun as he comes flying into NYC to land PLUNK right on . . .
well, that would be a bit of a spoiler, now wouldn't it.
Suffice it to say, you must read this book, o ye children of all ages!!
